Phatty Boom Stix

Sometimes, when my I can't get my brain to work properly, I make bootlegs, also called bastard pop or mash-ups. I've been too busy to make any recently and the guys at boomselection have got the ground thoroughly covered, so I'll just stick to DJing the stuff under the moniker Phatty Boom Stix. You may have heard some of these tracks on 2ser (Sydney, 107.3FM) or FBi (Sydney, 94.5FM), don't worry I'm as surprised as you are.

Tracks

Oh so criminal
I recently made an epic 10 minute 45 song/TV show/live recording track for an illegal art show. Very funny stuff. Here is the cut down version, the radio edit if you will. It's basically a comment on the RIAA's approach to online music copyright, and opens with a speech by a RIAA stooge. I call it Oh so criminal.

I wanna thank you - porn funk mix
I found an accapella of Christina Aguilera signing "what a girls wants" from a TV show. Only then did I realise that she says "thank you, for giving it to me" all they way through the song. So I made up some super cheesy porn music, sampled moans from a porno I found on the server at my old work and "I wanna thank you", the porn mix, was born.

Superstylin' - ice ice mix
I really like playing this groove armarda track when I'm DJing. But just after it came out everyone was playing it, so I redid a small part of it, made a nice little Vanilla Ice reprise in the middle and it is now even more fun to play live. It's always met with cheering, laughing and, most importantly, dancing.

Woohar its britney vs busta
This one really works. I've taken the vocals from Busta Rhymes' "Woohar" and put them over the sutly beats of Britney's "I'm a slave for you". I left in a bit of britney, as if she is being serenaded. I've also left a little loop of Busta rhyming at the begining, so it's really easy to mix, Woohar.

A C Destiny's Child - ACDC mix
This is my first attempt at bootlegging, it's ACDC's "Back in Black" mixed with Destiny's Child's "Independant Women". I've got a few endings, one with the DC original music at the end, one accapella so that you can mix the next track in over the outro vocals and this one; the "single version".

Bookings

I've recently been playing around Sydney and in the past in North America and Europe, but I'm crap at it and I don't like to do it that often. Having said that, if you'd like to book me to do a bootleg show, email me at phatty [at] keirdotnet [dot] net.
